Information Minister Welcomes Foreign Observers for Cambodian Elections

PHNOM PENH: The Minister of Information, Khieu Kanharith, has welcomed the presence of foreign observers for the upcoming Cambodian general election, showing a willingness toward a transparent democratic process.

According to the National Radio, Minister Khieu Kanharith made these welcoming remarks during a meeting with the Executive Director and Founder of the Fund for Reconciliation and Development, John McAuliff, on Monday morning, 23 January 2023, at the Ministry of Information.

Minister Khieu Kanharith reportedly requested that foreign observers have a clear understanding of the facts on Cambodian territory before coming here.

During the meeting, the Minister of Information also thanked Mr. John McAuliff for his efforts to present Cambodia to the American people so that they can better understand the situation in Cambodia.
